Retread Management System
Custom Systems re-engineered an existing, older generation truck tire retread management system and at the same brought it up to speed with today’s technology. The system was expanded to include Internet based order entry and order tracking to the level of an individual tire in the plant. New technologies using touch screens to manage the plant floor, handheld data entry terminals for remote order entry, wireless handheld devices to mange the plant floor, central data warehousing for nationwide cost and production control were some of the key new features introduced. The entire system took 10 month to design and 14 months to write and test. The system was then rolled out to 87 plants in North America and Canada.
Internet Data Warehouse
A large tire manufacturer contracted CUSTOM SYSTEMS to provide a software solution to information storage and data management for truck tires. The system is a centralized web enabled warehousing solution to collect and manage truck tire retread manufacturing and performance statistics. Thousands of employees and customers of this client can view graphical and tabular on-line reports quickly and securely using the Internet as the inquiry and presentation tool. The associated SQL database receives new production data each day from each plant via EDI communication channels. Close to 10 million data records are managed by this system. Custom Systems hosts the site and the data on its Internet Servers.
Internet Product Exchange System
An Internet based Bulletin Board System enables eligible users to post excess inventory for sale or requests to buy products. Matches are automatically determined and respective parties are electronically notified. Users may also search the BBS for available parts. This site is currently running on the Internet. CUSTOM SYSTEMS also hosts the site and associated data for this client.
